Vancouver Transit Centre opening this September
TransLink and Coast Mountain Bus Company have announced that the new Vancouver Transit Centre will officially open on September 4th, 2006.
The Vancouver Transit Centre, located at Hudson and SW Marine Drive in Marpole, is nearly structurally complete.
The Centre will be the new home to 400 trolley and diesel buses, which will be moving from the Centre to routes throughout Vancouver on a daily basis.
More than 1,000 employees will be transferring from the Oakridge Bus Depot to work from the new Transit Centre, which will also house a public cafeteria over-looking the Fraser River.
The Marpole Business Association, in collaboration with the Eburne Lands Coordinating Group, was instrumental in achieving a publicly-accessible, landscaped riverfront trail along the length of the Centre.
This trail is also scheduled to open to the public in early September.
With the arrival of 1,000 new employees into the primary market area of the Marpole commercial district, new business and marketing opportunities present themselves.
You can take advantage of this opportunity by offering your products & services directly to Transit Centre staff.
Food and beverage services, banking, uniform-cleaning services and other convenience services are appealing to Centre employees.
The MBA is working on a Welcome package to Transit Centre staff, which will include a directory of MBA member businesses.
